Due to the pandemic, many people around the world are stuck at home with nothing to do, full of anxiety, and ready for change. Thus, leading them to make drastic changes to their hair. This can be an exciting journey of scrolling through Pinterest in hopes of finding your newest look, then buying the tools, and finally doing your hair! But, one wrong move can lead to dry, brittle, and falling out hair! So, to avoid this disaster, prep your hair for the worst!
Sadly, even if you do do everything right, bleaching, and/ or dying your hair will lead to SOME damage. So, it’s best to prepare your hair for the worst and make it as strong as possible. Think of it as giving your hair a spa day, (though, I like to give my hair several spa days)! Anyways, here are 6 ways to make your hair stronger before changing it.
Quick tip: You can do all these things even if you are not making any changes to your hair! Your hair could always use a spa day!
- Hair Cut
- A nice trim or hair cut will say “bye-bye” to those pesky split ends and make your hair feeling stronger, softer, and better than ever! But remember to only use scissors meant for hair! The wrong scissors will do more harm than good.
- Hair Mask
- Olaplex no. 3
- NO heat products
- While trying to make your hair stronger, It is important not to add unnecessary damage to your hair.
- Coconut oil
- The right coconut oil does wonders! Before bed, I like to evenly distribute coconut oil throughout my hair then put it in a braid. To protect my pillow I either wrap my hair or cover my pillow with a 100% cotton t-shirt.
- Satin pillowcase
- Wow. I should have started doing this ages ago! But, I always thought it would be too expensive until I found this one. It has done wonders for my hair! It keeps my hair soft, prevents breaking and frizz, my curls last longer between washes. It is so important when protecting your hair. It’s great for any hair type! Plus, it decreased the number of acne breakouts I get on my face!
